502 Error Issue Resolved

An internal issue affecting the AdWords API servers for the past several days caused some requests to the API service to fail with an HTTP error of 502. We recently identified and resolved this issue, and all AdWords API services should be functioning normally at this time.

We apologize for any inconvenience that this issue may have caused to users of the API while the issue was being resolved.

V10 Sunset Extended to March 18

We have extended the V10 sunset to March 18, 2008 in order to give all developers more time to adapt to the new ReportService interface. The original sunset date was February 18, 2008.

New Python Client Library

We are happy to announce the release of our new Python client library.

The AdWords API Python Client Library makes it easier to write Python clients to programmatically access AdWords accounts. Main features include:

• the ability to hide the SOAP layer from end users,
• on demand logging of all SOAP messages,
• support for API calls against the production system or sandbox,
• automatic data type conversion for all API call parameters,
• tracking of all API usage, and
• report downloading in XML or CSV formats.

New Account Structure Report Now Available

Based on your feedback, we have developed a new report type designed specifically for API developers --the Account Structure report. This new report type allows you to download all of your account attributes (without statistics) from a single report, saving everyone time and API units.

The Account Structure report is available immediately through the new DefinedReportJob object (introduced in version 11), and can be aggregated at the campaign, ad group, keyword or creative level.
